Woody’s Surf Shack bar in Byron Bay has teamed up with local surfboard shaper, Simon Jones of Morning of The Earth Surfboards to create an exact replica of the surfboard ridden by Peterson in the movie. Not only is the board an exact replica, but it’s autographed by Michael Peterson himself.
Woody’s and Morning of The Earth Surfboards have donated the one-of-a-kind surfboard to a local Byron Bay charity, Aussies For Orphans, who will auction off the board at their upcoming benefit – Black, White and Bling on August 15 at the Ballina RSL. Aussies For Orphans is committed to funding culturally appropriate, sustainable projects that support the needs of children, within their culture and their wider community. Aussies For Orphans accomplishes this by providing funds to support infrastracture and programs within existing organisations who have proven they are working successfully in the best interest of children. Aussies for Orphans has helped fund over 7 projects in developing countries including Africa, Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
To book your tickets for Black White and Bling, or to register your bid for the Peterson signature surfboard, contact Aussies for Orphans on 02 6687 6004 or visit www.aussiesfororphans.org.
